A Weekend In Nashville

DAY 1

My friends and I drove down from Bloomington mid-morning so we didn't get to Nashville until late afternoon. My brother goes to school at TSU, so I went to dinner with him before he went home for the summer. We went to Del Frisco's Grille, where he works and got guacamole and burgers. That night, we just hung out at home in preparation for the weekend ahead.

DAY 2

On Friday we had brunch at Biscuit Love which was, according to Pinterest and the long line, a fan-favorite and definitely worth the wait. I had bonuts, fried biscuit dough covered in sugar, and the East Nasty- a buttermilk biscuit, fried boneless chicken thigh and sausage gravy. After that we hung out at the pool for a little bit.

Later that afternoon, we got on a Party Barge, where we pretty much rode through downtown Nashville in the back of a pick up truck with some drinks and a speaker system. We played our own music, danced, made some pit stops for pictures and had the best time. If you are ever in Nashville, you have to do it.

DAY 3

This was our longest day of exploring the city. After we all got ready, we headed out to 12 South. Our first stop was Five Daughters Bakery for donuts and then walked down to The Frothy Monkey for some coffee, and water because it was so hot. While we were in this part of the city, we walked through some markets. Later on, we went to Butcher & Bee for Maureen's birthday dinner and drinks, followed by exploring Downtown Nashville and all of its rooftop bars.

DAY 4

After a late night, we were slow to get up but had another full day of exploring the Gulch. There is a lot of cool street art in this part of the city. We got coffee from Milk & Honey and then did a little shopping. It was really hot this day too, so we called it quits early and went back to 12 South for dinner at Bar Taco. This was my favorite stop of the trip. The food was so good- we started with chips and guac, I ordered steak and chicken tacos, fried plantains and Mexican street corn- which paired well with sangria and margaritas.

It's always good to see my girls, especially doing something different in a new place. I would definitely find myself in Nashville again, because we didn't even see half of the city. If you don't mind the heat and dozens of bachelorette parties, it's worth the trip.
