New York City: Travel Recap & Vlog

TAKING IT ALL IN

There is so much to see and do in the Big Apple. And no matter how long of a trip it is, you can never fit it all in, being one of many reasons why NYC is my favorite place to visit. This time, I made a plan to spend more time in Brooklyn and do less touristy things (with a few exceptions). I walked The Highline, took pictures in DUMBO and walked up the stairs in the Vessel at Hudson Yards. I ate at Sweet Chick, got ice cream at Van Leeuwen and had the best matcha at Cha Cha Matcha. But I also went to the Comedy Cellar, visited Domino Park, went on a tour at the Brooklyn Brewery, looked around in Strand Bookstore, ate too many bagels and visited some pop-up museums. Told you I packed a lot in...

CHASING RAINBOWS AND SIPPIN' ROSÉ

The most fun I had on this trip was definitely at the Color Factory and the Rosé Mansion. The tickets were a little pricey, but totally worth it because you get cute souvenirs to take with you, sweet treats and several glasses of rosé... what more could a girl really ask for? Plus, both are good things to have planned for a rainy day in NYC.

NYC is one of only two locations that has a Color Factory, and is unique to each city. In short, is full of sweet treats, like macaroons and mochi, tons of rainbows in every way imaginable and photo ops that get emailed to you after your visit. All you need is curiosity for color and get ready to show off those pearly whites!

The Rosé Mansion was an absolute blast. It's wine bar, amusement park and museum of science for wine all rolled into one. I learned all about how rosé is made, all of the different ways it can taste and why we prefer sweeter or more dry pink drinks. I got to try 8 different kinds, take a million pictures, jump into a ball pit (included at the Color Factory too!) and ultimate make five strangers into friends. Like I said, it's worth the ticket price.

EATING MY WAY THROUGH NYC

One of my favorite things to do anywhere I go is to visit restaurants and sweet shops that I've seen on Instagram. I just need to know if it's as good as everyone says it is... the proof is in the matcha, not the gram. Ya know? The good news is, I have never been disappointed in NYC. Here is a quick rundown of the places that I visited and would 10/10 recommend.
Egg is the cutest little brunch spot, that puts a unique spin on French toast and has the best fresh squeezed OJ I've ever had. It's also next to Mast Chocolate, where you can take a tour of the factory. If you are a chocolate lover, you will have to make your way to Max Brenner Chocolate Bar for chocolate milkshakes and many other desserts. The food is good too! But if you are in the mood for cute tai lattes and a waffle that will make you feel full and satisfy your sweet tooth, Sweet Moment is the place to be. Another restaurant to be sure to visit is 230 Fifth Avenue for rooftop views and frosé topped with a tiny rubber ducky. If you're thirsty and a big matcha fan like me, make sure you get to Cha Cha Matcha, where they make it fresh and offer a wide variety of match makes. And as far as ice cream is concerned, Van Leeuwen is a very popular place and known for it's vegan ice cream.

SOME OF MY OTHER FAVORITE THINGS TO DO IN NYC

Every time that I have gone to NYC, I've planned out every part of my trip, from where I want to eat to what instagram pictures I want to take. With this being my fourth time, I've conquered a large part of the city, but I will always find more to do there. If what I did on this trip wasn't enough, here is a list of other things to check out:

Visit MoMA

See the Top of the Rock

See a show on Broadway

Eat at Angel of Harlem

Have a milkshake at Black Tap

Visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum

Take a train to Grand Central Station and eat your Gossip Girl heart out
