The 5 Products I Use to Straighten My Hair
Where my curl friends at?! Let me be the first to tell you that I have not straightened my own hair in years, and I was dreading it—holding a comb in one hand and hairdryer in the other, makes me tired just thinking about it. Not to mention that it used to take me forever because my hair was so long and so brittle from being trimmed so inconsistently. Fortunately, now I have a hairdresser that adores cutting and styling my hair, so I don’t usually have to worry about it. But with my busy schedule, and not being able to go home and see her as often as I used to, I needed to find a way to do it on my own, without damaging my hair, or breaking the bank. Thankfully, I found these products to take my curls down the straight and narrow, and simplifying this busy bee’s morning routine.
I’ve been wanting to try out this brand for a while because it is Black and female owned and has great reviews. If I’m going to put something in my multicultural hair, I want it to be made by a company that really understands the form and texture of my curls.
Say goodbye to holding a comb and a hairdryer because this tool has them both and is lightweight to make blowing my hair out super easy and not nearly as exhausting or time consuming. Blow out in 30 minutes, tops.
CHI Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron
I replaced my old flat iron about a year ago and love this one! The tourmaline contains moisture-locking ions for smoother and shinier hair. This tool paired with the Briogeo heat protectant are a match made in heaven.
I have used this oil in my curly and straightened hair for years. My hair texture is naturally really dry— so putting oil in it is always necessary— but especially when I’m not conditioning it every day. I like this oil because it’s lightweight and gets the job down without weighing my hair down.
I use this product for daily thermal protection when I need to run over my hair in the morning or after braiding it. The mist makes my hair super shiny, and not oily looking.
